Khaled Hosseini is the had a far from ordinary life. He was born in 1965, and he was the oldest of five children. He lived in Kabul, Afghanistan when he was very young, but then soon moved to Tehran, Iran in the early 70's, but he didn't stop there. In 1973 he moved to Paris, France. Finally, he ended up in San Jose, California. This is where he got his education, and he went on to college at Santa Clara University. Hosseini had early success in writing, for his first novel was The Kite Runner, which he published in 2002. The book made a big impact on everyone that read it, and became a popular book all around the world. He followed his first book up with A Thousand Splendid Suns in 2007, which once again was a huge hit worldwide.
